Prof. Sun Shiquan is a famous
radiological medicine and pathology
expert in China. and he used to be the vice-president of China Radiological
Medicine and Protection
Academy
and the member of China Pathology
Academy. In 1986, Prof. Sun started the research works in
irradiation biological effect on the tissue allografts
supported by the International Atomic Energy
Agency (IAEA) and he has long been
the Chinese Deputy of the IAEA Tissue Banking Programme. He built up the first tissue bank which
utilizes
irradiation sterilization
technique in China and supplys the deep
freeze and freeze drying allograft bone to
hospitals for use.
Prof. Sun is the
technical consultant of the Shanxi
Provincial Tissue Bank now, and provides the technique consultation
to the clinic surgeon and other tissue bank operators. At the Second
Nationwide Bone Transplantation Seminar
and the First Bone Tissue Banking Training Class held by SPTB and
Chinese Orthopedic Association in May 2001, he gave a series
of
lectures about bone tissue banking technology and principle of bone
transplantation and his splendid presentations obtained the
praise of specialists and orthopedists.
Although over 70 years old, Professor Sun still work hard at
cultivate new talenting men£¬making
plans for the development of the tissue bank, solving difficult
problem for the clinical workers and still contribute his ability and
wisdom to the enterprise of the tissue banking and the tissue
transplantation in China.
